The Prado Museum and Telefónica close ‘The art that connects’ with more than 100,600 visitors

He Prado and Telefónica Museum They have closed the project ‘The art that connects’ with more than 100,600 visitors who have visited the 18 Spanish museums for nine months that have temporarily exhibited some of the masterpieces of painting.

Thus, works by Velázquez, Goya, Ribera, Murillo and other of the great artists of the Prado have traveled to 18 locations throughout Spain and have been seen by a total of 100,622 citizens. The Museum of Fine Arts of Granada is the institution that has received the most visitors with 23,814 peoplefollowed by the National Museum of Roman Art in Mérida with 18,493 visitors and the National Museum of Underwater Archeology (ARQVA) with 10,798 people.

This initiative delves into the path opened by the Prado Museum in the celebration of its Bicentennial in 2019 with ‘On tour in Spain’ and by adding both projects, the institution will have had a direct presence in almost forty cities throughout the country.

To these we would have to add loans or temporary traveling exhibitions, in addition to ‘The Prado in the streets’a project that brings photographic replicas of the Museum’s collections to public spaces and that currently tours Andalusian cities and has previously toured Castilla y León, Castilla la Mancha and Extremadura.
