Next Documenta will be directed by Naomi Beckwith: New York, please come

No collective like the last edition, no two locations like the last time, but more professionalism: Documenta 16, the next edition of the Kassel World Art Exhibition taking place in 2027, will be led by Naomi Beckwith, deputy director and chief curator of the New York Guggenheim Museum . Representatives of the Documenta supervisory board and management announced this on Wednesday at a press conference in Kassel. Both Kassel’s mayor Sven Schoeller and the Hessian culture minister Timon Gremmels (“a weight falls from my heart”) did not hide their relief that the Documenta had apparently managed to steer into calmer waters.
