State museums and archives celebrate International Archives Day with open doors and a new tool

The Ministry of Culture and Sport has joined the celebration of International Archives Day which has this Thursday, June 9, with a day that includes open doors in several of the state archives and the launch of a new website.

The motto of this edition, ‘#SomosArchivo’ refers not only to archivists and professional practice and how this influences the archives themselves, but also to the stories contained in the documents in custody and how they represent the different communities.

To this end, the State Archives have designed a special program of activities open to the public and free guided tours with prior registration.

For their part, the State Museums join this celebration with the launch of ‘ARCHIMUS‘, a web portal that makes available to citizens the information related to their files.

Users will be able to access various resources and information such as legislative codes, regulations, outstanding archives of the different museums attached to the Ministry of Culture and Sports, as well as a repository of other archives of national and international museums.
