In a theatrical panorama full of predictability, the unipersonal Answer Parrot Breaks as a proposal that challenges the conventional; Interpreted by Natalia Goded, she started season this weekend at the La Grotto forum of the Hellenic Cultural Center.
With the direction of Omar Esquinca and Goded, who is also the playwright, the work introduces a character full of irony and social criticism that questions the current structures.
Through improvisation, the show makes the attendees active participants of a game that fuses the absurd with the human.
In an interview with The day, The director explained that the assembly arose in an unusual context: “During the pandemic, when the theatrical spaces were limited and the works he had worked on.
At that time I decided to explore improvisation and interaction with the public, a process that began to take shape with the children with whom I worked in distance classes.
That formative work with the youngest served as a laboratory of ideas, where the questions of the little ones and the character’s ability to answer them became the core of the work.
For the actress, Parrot is not a common character, but a complex creation that nurtures the stories that he collects in his path. Although it has a profile marked by its Spanish nationality, its essence becomes universal thanks to Goded’s ability to adapt the show to the local context of each function.
When I get to a new place, the first thing I do is investigate, talk to people and adapt the proposal to their realities. This makes the character even closer and relevant to each audience
