Oviedo stressed that “this historical archive is the cornerstone for development, an unique example in Mexico and in the world, of the establishment of a network of industrial heritage museums. We have the story in our documentary funds, which is what has given the pattern for the restoration and reuse of the sites, and it is a way to take to the street the information that is in the file.
That is why it is essential that its conservation continues, since it is in the memory list of the world of Mexico from 2022 of the United Nations Organization, for education, science and culture (UNESCO).
Today a program will be held from 16:30 to 8:30 p.m., which will be broadcast on the Facebook pages of both files. It will begin with the words of Carlos Enrique Ruiz Abreu, head of the AGN. .
He clarified that there is the idea that private archives, such as the one he directs, has solved economic life, but is wrong. Even so, in the association they have worked with two centuries of mining history in the country.
Belem Oviedo began working in this institution invited by Gloria Carreño Alvarado, when at the end of the 80s of the last century it was decided to do a cultural project in the Real Company of the Mount and Pachuca, and they arrived with the proposal to organize their archive.
Since then they have maintained a collaboration relationship with the AGN. They received a mention of archival merit in the category of non -governmental archives, and in 1993 they published the first general guide of their documentary collections in co -edition with the national dependence.
The director of the historical archive linked to mining stressed that this collection is Ingerable source of information, retains a fundamental fragment of Mexico’s historical memory. Private archives treasure an important part, complement and enrich the knowledge of our development as a society. Both the testimonies and the heritage that has been valued are a small sample of the importance of recovering the identity of a region as extensive as the one that includes the municipalities of Pachuca, Mineral del Monte, Mineral de El Chico, Mineral de la Reforma, omitlán, Huasca and Epazoyuan
.
This file not only includes regional information, as the company had properties in other states and even in mines of Alaska, Chile and Patagonia.
Through several activities, said the historian, they have influenced In the revaluation of the mining being, which has also assumed the population and the team of the museums, where most are of mining descent. One of the great qualities of appreciating the industrial heritage is that the same people of the community revalue the role of their ascendants and of themselves in this work of a new culture, the mining culture
