Anne Heche’s serious accident: “It is expected that she will not survive”

According to media reports, the family of US actress Anne Heche (“Ally McBeal”, “Six Days, Seven Nights”) sees no chance of survival after the 53-year-old’s car accident.

Heche suffered a serious brain injury and remains in a coma, an agent for the award-winning actress said in a family statement, according to US media. “It is expected that she will not survive,” the US broadcaster CNN and other media quoted him late Thursday evening (local time).

The agent reportedly said it had long been the actress’ desire to donate her organs. “She remains hooked up to life support equipment to determine if organs are viable.”

The accident happened on August 5 in the Mar Vista neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). Heche’s car crashed into a house at high speed and only came to a stop after almost ten meters. A fire also broke out. According to the media, the police said on Thursday that they were investigating driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Heche, mother of two sons, made her name with roles in films such as Donnie Brasco, Six Days Seven Nights, Wag the Dog and Volcano and was awarded an Emmy – the US television award .
