‘Crime on Lake Garda’, a mystery by Tom Hindle between a dream wedding and murders on the island

The story takes place at Castello Fiore, a historic residence on a small island on Lake Garda, chosen as the perfect location for the wedding between Laurence Heywood, scion of a prestigious British family, and Eva Bianchi, an Italian influencer with an ambiguous past and magnetic charm. Between toasts, forced smiles and underground tensions, the idyllic atmosphere gradually deteriorates until the tragic event that stops all the guests on the island. Isolated and waiting for the police to arrive, the guests find themselves trapped in a climate of suspicion and fear. Old grudges resurface, hidden secrets emerge and every guest potentially becomes a suspect. No one can leave the island: the killer is hiding among them. Guiding the narrative thread is Robyn, the groom’s brother’s girlfriend and aspiring journalist, who observes, notes and connects clues while trying to navigate a web of lies and omissions. In a closed and claustrophobic microcosm, every detail can be decisive: who is telling the truth and who is lying to save themselves?

An author already established on the international scene, Tom Hindle is known for a series of successful detective stories in his homeland and for the previous “Crime for Play”, published by Bompiani in 2025. British critics have repeatedly indicated him as a modern heir to the classic Agatha Christie school of crime fiction, for his ability to construct mysteries behind closed doors and escalating psychological tensions. From the novel “Crime on Lake Garda”, a television series produced by The Apartment for Disney+ is already in development, a sign of the strong international interest in a story that combines Mediterranean atmosphere, intrigue and suspense.
