Silas Holst: My body can no longer
After a long and grueling career in show business, Silas Holst makes it clear: His body will soon no longer be able to stand it

A tough and disciplinary lifestyle, strict diet plans, constant self-awareness and a focus on performance and perfection.

There is no doubt that a career like the one Silas Holst has wears on body and mind.

It is also clearly expressed when the dance darling tells about life in the world of dance and theater – and not least the health consequences that come with it – in the latest edition of the Radio4 podcast ‘The Last Meal’.

– I am very aware that what I am driving now (career. Ed.), Will end within a few years. I also want it to end within a few years. For my body, it soon can no longer, he says.

Silas Holst has most recently excelled on stage in the New Theater with the lead role as the drag queen Lola in the musical ‘Kinky Boots’, which premiered on 10 February this year. A performance and a Silas Holst performance that has already garnered lots of applause, praise and great reviews.

Looking forward to a life outside the spotlight
Although the entertainment industry with the success that Silas Holst brings to the fore may seem glamorous, there is also both physical and mental wear and tear with the job as a performer.

Because in addition to the fact that the job is demanding in many ways in itself, the spotlight does not go out, even if it is dawn.

With public attention and fame, it is difficult to care about how other people perceive your person and appearance, and that way you never have time off, says Silas Holst.

– I must not look arrogant or walk in an arrogant way, because then people think I am arrogant, and I am not at all. I always smile sweetly at people who smile because they should not think I’m mad at them. I always give myself time for a hug and a chat on the street. I know that every time I leave my home, I’m at work, says the dance star.

Last season of ‘Wild with Dance’ was the last for Silas Holst.

When his time in the spotlight is over, Silas Holst therefore looks forward to a calmer life, where he relaxes and not least ‘does not care what he looks like’.

He can appropriately do so with his fiancée, former ‘Paradise Hotel’ darling Nicolai Schwartz, after announcing in recent years that they are getting married.

Ekstra Bladet has contacted Silas Holst for an in-depth comment, but he has not returned at the time of writing.
