Under fire: Russian soldiers in search for Ukrainian women on Tinder

In the shadow of the beginning of Russia’s war in Ukraine, a new phenomenon has begun in which quite a few women in the country are “bombarded” in messages on the dating app “Tinder” by Russian soldiers. “Everyone there was very muscular and posed for very tough poses.”

In the last day many Ukrainian women report being bombarded with messages sent to their message box on Tinder from Russian soldiers. Andrei, Alexander, Gregory, Mikhail and even a bearded Chechen fighter calling himself on Tinder “black” are just a small part of the dozens and possibly even hundreds of soldiers who turned to those women, mostly residents of Kharkiv, the second largest city in Ukraine.

Dasha Sinelnikova told the country’s media that she was surprised to receive dozens of matching requests and messages from Russian soldiers, very shortly after she determined her location in the city of Kharkiv on Tinder. In an interview with the British Sun, Dasha said that a friend of hers informed her about dozens of Russian soldiers looking for women on Tinder, so she changed the location on her profile and indeed received the messages from them in a very short time.

“I could not believe my eyes,” she said. “Everyone there was very muscular and was photographed in very tough poses. One uploaded a picture as if sexy with a gun in bed. Another soldier uploaded a picture while with his combat gear, they showed off the pictures.” She added that “none of them looked attractive and I would not sleep with the enemy. So I slid them all to the left automatically. I entered the messages they sent only out of curiosity.”

A Russian soldier named Andrei wrote to her: “I was born in Belgrade and was an engineer before 2014 and visited Kharkov quite a bit. I loved the city so much I wanted to buy an apartment. I like to travel to Asia, especially Thailand. But now it’s a difficult time. I wanted to travel to Europe but it’s hard to get a visa “Because nobody likes Russia right now.” When Dasha asked Andrei if he was a Russian soldier, he sent her an actor Jim Carrey’s gif, as if to say, “Oops.”

The “black” Chechen fighter wrote in his Tinder profile that he is 33 years old and added a picture of himself in bed with a gun and another hugging a kitten. Alexander, 29, is seen wearing a beret indicating that he is parachuted, with his sunglasses tucked into his tight-fitting striped vest. Of the Russian Federation. ”

Those who were very happy to receive all the adjustments and announcements on Tinder, are the Ukrainian intelligence personnel who claim to have thus exposed locations of Russian forces and assembly areas. I wonder what the counter-reaction of military intelligence will be. One of the Ukrainian women actually showed a kind of understanding when she said: “The guys are these are like all the men on Tinder, young people looking for fun and love.”
