‘It was dumb’

This is how it sounds from the well-known chef Thomas Rode Andersen.

The words come in the wake of the fact that he has ended up in a storm after an Instagram post about Shrovetide buns.

‘Shrovetide buns are for bitches’, was the introduction from Thomas Rode Andersen in the post, which continued:

‘Danish men, what’s happening to you ?? ‘Shrovetide bun tasting’. ‘Uhhh let’s find out who makes Copenhagen’s best Shrovetide buns (…) Eat a Shrovetide bun with the family, but now let the hell not make it the highlight of the year!’, It reads further in the post.

Are we talking like this?
The post has since received harsh criticism on Twitter and other social media.

Among others from the singer Lydmor with the middle name Jenny Rossander.

‘Sorry, are we talking like this in 22? So-called “master chef” Thomas Rode Andersen at insta. I do not know if I have too many illusions about how far we are as a society, but is it not COMPLETELY out in the woods? ‘, She writes in a post, where she has also shared Thomas Rode Andersen’s original Instagram post.

I regret
Since then, Thomas Rode Andersen has also deleted the post, and in a text message to Ekstra Bladet he writes that he regrets his choice of words, and that he has therefore removed it.

‘I just think it’s dead. It was a nutrition-focused post in a context that was greatly misunderstood ‘, he writes and continues:

‘And as my sweet wife said. ‘Now use IG as the positive medium there is’ …. I have taken that to heart, and then it is not so much anymore. I used the wrong word, and of course I regret it. It was stupid ‘, he writes.

From 1996 to 2014, Thomas Rode Andersen was head chef and director of restaurant Kong Hans in Copenhagen. He is also the author of the books’ Stone Age Diet ‘and’ Palæo ‘and has also regularly cooked in’ Go ‘morgen Danmark’.
