Samuel L. Jackson received the Lifetime Achievement Oscar

73-year-old actor Samuel L. Jackson, director Quentin Tarantino’s icon, received the Academy Award for Lifetime Achievement. The black American actor is remembered among other things for his interpretations in Spike Lee’s film ‘Do the right thing’ and in Tarantino’s for roles in ‘Pulp Fiction’, ‘Jackie Brown’, ‘Django Unchained’ and as a character in numerous Marvel films. Jackson had so far only gotten an Oscar nomination for ‘Pulp Fiction’.

The news of the award was given to him two days before the award ceremony of the statuettes by actor Denzel Washington, who recalled the extraordinary career of his colleague: “152 films and 27 billion dollars in box office, more than any other actor in the history”.
