Bodyguard testifies: Amber Heard is said to have hit Johnny Depp in the face with his fist

Amber Head accused her ex-husband and Hollywood star Johnny Depp of domestic violence in the Washington Post in 2018. In the ongoing court case of the ex-couple, Depp’s longtime bodyguard has testified against Heard: During a violent argument, the actress is said to have punched Depp in the face.

The security guard had often observed how the ex-couple argued violently. He described this on Monday on the witness stand in the courtroom, which was connected via video. According to his statements, there were wild insults, and Heard is said to have become violent in some cases. Among other things, the actress threw a Red Bull can at her ex-husband and spat on him.

Johnny Depp was also short-tempered: during an argument he tore Heard’s clothes out of the closet and threw them on the floor. However, McGivern says Depp never hit his ex-wife. Depp previously said under oath that he never hit Heard.

Amber Heard fires her PR consultancy

It’s not just Head’s alleged fisticuffs that make the headlines: the press has had few positive words for actress Amber Heard since she went to court in a legal dispute with ex-husband and Hollywood star Johnny Depp.

Heard now seems to want to change that: After the negative reporting on the sensational process, the actress quickly separated from her PR team. The British newspaper The Independent reports that Heard is moving from the consulting firm Precision Strategies to Shane Communications. “She doesn’t like the negative headlines,” a source told the New York Post.

International media report on the mud fight of the two Hollywood stars. Some live broadcasts of the court case have more than a million views on YouTube. Amid the trial, more than three million people have petitioned to have Heard’s role removed from her new film, Aquaman 2. The film was completed in January 2022 and is scheduled to hit German cinemas in early 2023.

Ex-couple Johnny Depp & Amber Heard are suing each other

In his civil lawsuit, Depp alleges that his ex-wife made false statements in a 2018 op-ed about domestic violence published by the Washington Post. This damaged his reputation. Depp is not mentioned by name in the article. He is suing for around 50 million dollars (a good 45 million euros) in damages for defamation.

Heard has responded with a counterclaim. She is demanding $100 million in damages from Depp and accusing him of “unbridled physical violence.”

The two actors were married from 2015 to 2017. They met on a film shoot in 2011. The court process has been running since April 11 and is expected to last several weeks. (with dpa)
