Almost 1 million and 900 thousand spectators in 2023, a strong contribution from private individuals against meager EU resources, despite musical activities contributing to increasing GDP. These are the key points of the Annual Report on musical activities in Italy and abroad, edited by the Italian Association of Musical Activities (AIAM), and presented to the Ministry of Culture. The report highlights significant numbers, which form the backdrop to the appeal by AIAM president Francescantonio Pollice to increase the National Live Entertainment Fund up to 1% of GDP. “Culture is an economic driver. Every euro invested by the State generates three in return”, said Pollice, highlighting the overall economic impact of musical activities, which include labor costs of 64 million euros and payments to the State of 76.23% of the amount allocated.
