As for Vietsovpetro Medical Center, a few people came for examination this morning. Previously, this place received 67 cases, of which 65 people were discharged from the hospital.

The patients all showed signs of abdominal pain, high fever, and diarrhea many times after eating bread purchased from Co Ba bakery on Nguyen An Ninh Street, Vung Tau City on the afternoon and evening of November 26. The bread sold mainly at the shop is mixed bread including boiled meat, floss, butter, pate, pork sausage, sauce, pickles, and cilantro. The owner said he sells 600-700 servings every day.

Vung Tau City authorities inspected the Co Ba facility, took food samples remaining at the store and sent patient samples to the Ho Chi Minh City Institute of Public Health for testing to find the cause.

Mr. Hoang Vu Thanh, Chairman of Vung Tau City People’s Committee, requested medical facilities to actively treat patients and stabilize their health soon. He proposed that the health sector prepare to develop scenarios to proactively handle future incidents, with the number of victims possibly reaching thousands of people.

City leaders requested the authorities to trace the origin of raw materials purchased and sold by the bakery. Related establishments must temporarily suspend business while clarifying the case.
