The decline of the seventh wave of coronavirus in Israel: less than 28 thousand people are infected

On Monday, August 8, the Israeli Ministry of Health published new data on the coronavirus epidemic. The Ministry of Health announces the decline of the seventh wave of the epidemic. So far, coronavirus departments in hospitals are open.

The Ministry of Health does not insist on the return of the “mask mode” in the premises and public transport, although it recommends wearing masks.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,603,330 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country.

Over the past 24 hours, 13,950 tests have been carried out. Coronavirus was detected in 18% of cases.

At the moment, 27787 people are infected (-3183 per day).

11449 cases of COVID-19 died (+13 per day; data for several days have been updated).

787 cases in hospitals (-57 per day), others are recovering at home.

The condition of 303 patients is assessed by doctors as severe (-4 per day), 90 are connected to ventilators or ECMO (-1 per day).

The infectiousness index (an index of the reproduction of the virus, showing how many people, on average, one infected person transmits it) – 0.76.

According to a report by the Israeli Ministry of Health, 91% of seriously ill patients are over 60 years old. The vast majority of those infected tolerate the disease easily.
