September 21 | Coronavirus in Israel: about 9,000 infected, fewer than 300 patients diagnosed with COVID-19 in hospitals

On Wednesday, September 21, the Israeli Ministry of Health published new data on the coronavirus epidemic.

In total, 4,653,764 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country since the start of the pandemic.

11681 COVID-19 patients died (+0 per day).

Over the past 24 hours, 10,625 tests have been carried out. Coronavirus was detected in 12% of cases.

At the moment, 8759 people are infected (+383 per day).

285 cases in hospitals (-2 per day), others are recovering at home.

The condition of 88 patients is assessed by doctors as severe (0 per day), 32 are connected to ventilators or ECMO (+1 per day).

The infectiousness index (an index of the reproduction of the virus, showing how many people, on average, one infected person passes it on) – 1.06 (it has been decreasing in recent days).

According to a report by the Israeli Ministry of Health, 91% of seriously ill patients are over 60 years old. The vast majority of those infected tolerate the disease easily.
