Coronavirus in Israel February 5, 2023: about 5,000 infected, 29 dead in a week diagnosed with COVID-19

On the morning of Sunday, February 5, the Israeli Ministry of Health published new data on the coronavirus epidemic.

In total, since the beginning of the pandemic, 4,788,158 cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in the country (about 3.4 thousand per week, 19% less than the week before last).

It should be noted that in the last two months the number of detected infected has been consistently decreasing.

12203 patients with COVID-19 died (+29 in a week).

Over the past day, 2948 tests have been carried out. Coronavirus was detected in 7% of cases.

At the moment, 4998 people are infected (-747 in a week).

396 cases in hospitals (-25 per week), others are recovering at home.

The condition of 109 patients is assessed by doctors as severe (-2 per week), 40 are connected to ventilators or ECMO (+7 per week).

According to a report by the Israeli Ministry of Health, 93% of seriously ill patients are over 60 years old. The vast majority of those infected tolerate the disease easily.
