The epidemic curve in Italy remains growing

The epidemic curve in Italy is still growing. There are 1,391 new cases in the last 24 hours, against 1,400 yesterday but above all the 808 of last Sunday, confirming a clear increasing weekly trend. The swabs are 143,332, 65 thousand less than yesterday, so much so that the positivity rate rises from 0.7% to 0.97%, therefore a step away from 1%, as had not happened since June 14.

The deaths are 7 (yesterday 12), and it is the lowest number since last 12 September. The total number of victims rises to 127,775. Intensive therapies are stable (yesterday -8) with 6 admissions of the day, and remain at 161 total, while hospitalizations drop by 13 units (yesterday -20), 1,134 in all. This is what emerges from the daily bulletin of the Ministry of Health.

The region with the most cases today is Lombardy with 250 new positives; followed by Sicily (+183), Campania (+169), Lazio (+164) and Veneto (+125). The total cases thus rise to 4,271,276. The healed are 1,318 (yesterday 1,763), for a total of 4,102,420 since the beginning of the pandemic. The currently positives return to rise, albeit slightly (+66), for the first time since May 2 (yesterday -381), and rise to 41,081 in all, of which 39,786 in home isolation.
