All regions are classified as moderate risk this week. This is what emerges from the draft of the ISS on monitoring the contagion from Covid.

The employment rate in medical areas nationwide increases to 4%. The number of people hospitalized in these areas is increasing from 1,611 (27/07/2021) to 2,196 (03/08/2021).
Sixteen Regions report resilience alerts. None reports multiple resilience alerts.
Prevailing Delta variant
“The circulation of the delta variant is now largely prevalent in Italy. This variant is dominant in the European Union “and is” associated with an increase in the number of new cases of infection also in other countries with high vaccination coverage “, reads the draft monitoring of the Covid contagion of the ISS.
According to the ISS, “a higher vaccination coverage and the completion of vaccination cycles represent the main tools to prevent further recurrences of episodes of increased circulation of the virus supported by emerging variants with greater transmissibility”.
Finally, a recommendation: “It is advisable to carry out an extensive tracing and containment of cases, to maintain high attention and to apply and respect measures and behaviors to limit the further increase in viral circulation”.
