Israel: The Ministry of Health announced a reduction in the age of receiving free dental treatment

The Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Equality have announced a reduction in the age of eligibility for dental treatment free of charge or for a nominal fee (depending on the procedures).

The age of free or subsidized preventive treatment will be lowered from 75 to 72. This category includes procedures such as regular check-ups, visits to the hygienist, emergency dental care, removal of the dental nerve.

The age of free or subsidized rehabilitation treatment will be lowered from 80 to 72. This category includes procedures such as fillings, false teeth, etc.

This step will cost 100 million shekels per year, which will be financed from the budgets of both ministries. It is planned that the decision will be approved and come into force within the next few weeks.
