The most useful player in the NBA league, the center of the Nuggets, Nikola Jokić, ingloriously ended the season after he was sent off 3:52 minutes before the end of the third quarter due to a rough foul on Cameron Payne.
Denver lost with 83:75 in those moments, and after one unsuccessful attack, Jokić got annoyed and hit the Phoenix basketball player, after which the referees showed him the way to the locker room.
The crowd on the field followed, Devin Booker entered Jokić’s face, the other players of both teams intervened, but the situation quickly calmed down.
The only NBA player to have played all 72 games this season, he finished the game with 22 points, 11 rebounds and four assists.
Without Jokic’s help, Denver had no chance against Phoenix, which eventually qualified for the Western Conference finals for the first time in 11 years.
The chances were led by Chris Paul with 37 and Devin Booker with 34 points and 11 rebounds until the seventh consecutive victory in the playoffs. Michal Bridges added 14 and Deandre Eaton 12 points for the winning team.
