British tennis player Emma Raducanu won the US Open title tonight, after she defeated Canadian Leila Fernandez 6: 4 in two sets, 6.3. minutes of play.

The Briton made a decisive break in the first set in the 10th game, and in the second set she managed to take the service away from the opponent twice, which was enough for winning the sets and winning.

Eighteen.year.old Radukanu made history after becoming the first qualifier, in the women’s or men’s competition, to ever make it to the finals and win a Grand Slam tournament.

The fact that she reached the title as a qualifier without losing a set speaks volumes about how dominantly the Briton played the entire tournament.

This was the first teenage Grand Slam final since 1999, when Serena Williams defeated Martina Higgins in the US Open final.
