The young women won a set and eventually lost in the Champions League

In the meeting of the 3rd round of group A CEV League champion volleyball players Zagreb Youth are in the Bojan Strani Volleyball Centerć lost to the Bulgarian team Martiza from Plovdiv with 1-3 (17-25, 25-18, 22-25, 15-21), registering their third defeat.

It was a test between two teams that lost both meetings in the elite competition in the first two rounds. Unfortunately, Mladost recorded their third defeat, while the Bulgarian women achieved their first victory.

After the only domestic lead in the first set of 4-3, the visitors made a 5-0 run for 8-4, after which they did not drop the set again. With three Bulgarian aces, seven mistakes by Mladost players and their only 30% service reception, it could not have turned out better than the final 17-25.

The second set didn’t start any better either, so Mladost coach Darko Noji tried. by making changes, he will find a suitable lineup. Mladost tied the game at 10-10 with a 4-0 run, which forced the visiting coach Ersimsek to take a minute’s rest. The home team finally felt that they can really play on an equal footing with a much more experienced team, they are finally increasing their aggressiveness on the serve and in the attack, the game is tougher, braver, and this results first in their lead of 17-16, then with a series of 5-0 22-17 and in the end 25-18.

They improved the home service reception to 47% percent, made three aces, along with two blocks and six errors. It was Mladost’s first set in this year’s Champions League. Unfortunately, the Bulgarian team won the next two sets for the final 3-1.

Simona Petranović led Mladost with 18 points, Ana Ištuk collected 13, and Tonka Bošnjak ten.

– Each set we came in halfway, but all in all, we can be satisfied, we won the set, after all, we are playing for the first time at this level. I am satisfied with my game, although I can always do better. ČI was still expecting that Grabi would come to usć missing more, but we did quite well without her, and Petranović ended up being the MVP of the meeting – said Tonka Bošnjak, who won 10 points.

In the winning ranks, Iva Dudova was the best with 22 points.
