The celebrated selector of the national teams of Yugoslavia and Serbia and one of the best coaches in the history of world basketball, Dušan Duda Ivković, passed away today in Belgrade at the age of 78.

The news was confirmed by the Basketball Association of Serbia, as well as the first man of Radnički, Goran Kalinić.

“At six hours and 50 minutes, Dusan died in a hospital in Belgrade as a result of water in his lungs and herpes,” Kalinic told Sport Klub briefly.

Dušan Ivković was born in Belgrade on October 29, 1943.

With the national team, he won three European gold and one silver, one world gold, silver at the Olympic Games and gold at the Universiade.

As a club coach, he led Partizan, Aris, Radnicki Belgrade, Sibenik, Vojvodina, PAOK, Panionis, Olympiakos, AEK, CSKA, Dinamo Moscow and Anadolu Efes.
