Positive evaluation of Paraná Clube’s pre-season
Paraná Clube had just over a month of preparation until their debut in the Campeonato Paranaense. The team played three training games and recorded two draws – 0-0 with Marcílio Dias and 1-1 with Joinville – and one defeat – 2-1 against Barra-SC.
Despite the sequence without victory, the coach positively assessed the team’s evolution and will only demand results from the state debut. “I’ve never seen a pre-season champion in football. That doesn’t exist. I want to be champion of the championship, that’s what counts. What mattered least in the three games was the result. And the best was precisely the last game”, he said.
“When you do the pre-season, it’s to shape the football team. I understand that to have a game standard you need at least three months of work. We have 35 days. The pre-season does not provide exact information about the championship. We need to have results and performance”, added Fuchs.
Classic without favorite
The Paraná Championship calendar included a classic for Paraná Clube right at its debut. Athletico plays its first match after relegation to Series B of the Brazilian Championship and also enters the state tournament with a reformulated squad.
“We are experiencing the same moment as our opponent, the debut of a new coach and a new team. Athletico has some remaining players from last year, which is an advantage. But I say that the classic is 50% for each side, they are two great teams, regardless of how long we have been training and whether the team is new. They are two very strong institutions in Brazilian football and, especially, in Paraná. It is a pleasure to work in a great game”, said Argel Fuchs.
