Paris FC – Amiens (1-0): under the eyes of Jürgen Klopp, the Parisians finally return to victory

He arrived all smiles at 1:40 p.m. with owner Antoine Arnault. As announced, Jürgen Klopp discovered Paris FC and the Charléty stadium this Saturday afternoon. Installed in the presidential stand, the new global director of football at Red Bull, a 10.6% shareholder of the Parisian club, witnessed its short success (1-0) against Amiens.

On a very bad spiral worthy of a relegated team (7 points out of 21), Paris FC is finally resuming its march forward. He temporarily regains his leadership position with one point ahead of Lorient, which hosts Metz in the evening.

As he announced, after the defeat against the last Martigues (1-2), Stéphane Gilli had made some changes. Ilan Kebbal, a little less influential in recent weeks, started on the bench while Jean-Philippe Krasso was positioned in “9 and a half” behind Pierre-Yves Hamel.

In the first period, Paris FC showed itself to be dangerous several times, notably on a free kick from Maxime Lopez repelled by Régis Gurner (19th) or a recovery from Hamel above (35th), he also scared himself. Obed Nkambadio was decisive on Louis Mafouta’s volley (14th) and Tuomas Ollila, who saved on the arm line, should have been penalized with a penalty (28th). But there is no VAR in Ligue 2.

As too often in recent weeks, Paris FC, during these first 45 minutes, had a lot of possession (72% in the 1st period), tried a lot (13 shots) but narrowly missed. An observation that repeats itself.

Pierre-Yves Hamel releases his team

But the Parisians will free themselves as soon as they resume. On a long cross from Timothée Kolodziejczak, Pierre-Yves Hamel takes the ball with his chest and follows it up with a victorious rebound (1-0, 50th). Still as valuable as ever but too often hampered by injuries, the Breton striker (29 years old) scored his second goal this season and his 12th since his arrival in Paris.

Paris FC then had several opportunities to take cover but remained under threat from Amiens until the end. But with this 3rd victory of the season at Charléty (after Laval and Grenoble), an entire club can breathe after a few weeks of doubt.
