Oliver Helander blows up a terrible throw and approaches the spear legends of all time – Antti Ruuskanen is already behind

Oliver Helander rose to third in the world stats of this season with his 89.83 javelin throw. In all-time statistics, he became the fifth best Finn.

Spear thrower Oliver Helander rankings on both the season and all-time spear lists took decent leaps up on Tuesday.

The lists are maintained on the website of the International Athletics Federation.

Helander threw a new record of 89.83 in the Paavo Nurmi competition in Turku. In this season’s statistics, Helander rose to third.

More men in the spear have been thrown by Grenada, which holds only the top result of the season at 93.07 Anderson Peters as well as in May in Doha 90.88 threw the Czech Republic Jakub Vadlejch.

Behind Helander, the group is in a tight bundle. The other three throwers have also crossed 89 meters. Indian Olympic winner Neeraj Chopra threw 89.30 in Turku, releasing the place of statistics.

Germany wedges between the successes of Turku Julius Weber (89.54). Statistical weaving Keshorn Walcott has thrown 89.07.

Everyone in the time statistics, Helander rose to 23rd place. He is the first thrower on the list with a score of less than 90 meters. There are only four Finns ahead, and all belong to the genre legends.

Finnish record holder Aki Parviainen is ranked fourth in the statistics with a score of 93.09. Coaching Helander Tero Pitkämäki 91.53 is enough for 12th place.

In the early 90’s as well Kimmo Kinnunen (90.82) that Seppo Räty (90.60) threw on 90-meter throws.

Spear throwing statistics need to keep in mind the changes in the spear pattern. For example, Räty has thrown 96.96 emissions in 1991 with a model that was decommissioned and therefore the result is not included in the all-time statistics currently in use. Likewise, all the great men of the sport who competed in the 80s and earlier are missing from the lists.

Helanderin the previous record was 88.02. It justified 44th place before the Turku race, so Helander bounced 20th place up the list.

Of the Finns, Helander passed Matti Närhen, Juha Laukkanen and Antti Ruuskanen. The record for multiple value medalist Ruuskanen is 88.98 in 2015.

Many shooters above Helander have knocked 90-yards several times in their careers.

World Athletics also maintains a list of all career outcomes for an individual athlete. However, there is only one result from one race.

In this list, Helander ranks 139th in Turku with his result. Pitkämäki, for example, threw further in six races in his career.

World record man Jan Zelezny snatched over Helander’s throw-in reading in 39 races. German With Johannes Vetter there are 22 better quotes from the race.
