Bayern Munich football player Robert Lewandowski was awarded the Golden Boot for the best scorer in the European leagues last season.
Lewandowski is only the second player from the German league to win the Golden Boot, after Gerd Miller, in the 1971/1972 season.
The Polish striker scored 41 goals in 29 league games last season.
“I am grateful to my family, teammates, coaches and the whole club. I am extremely proud of what we have achieved as a team,” Lewandowski said.
Lionel Messi with 30 and Cristiano Ronaldo with 29 goals remained behind Lewandowski last season.
