A personally successful debut for Yuval Sussman at Alba Berlin tonight (Thursday), but his and Tamir Blatt’s team lost 88:86 to Lavon already in the first round of the Bundesliga. The small forward, who moved during the summer from Maccabi Tel Aviv, finished the game with 14 points on 6 of 11 from the field, including 2 of 3 for three, and added 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals (Index 15). Blatt impressed less and finished with 3 points on 1 of 5 from the field while also with 4 turnovers.
Sussman came up in the top five, started the game not the best with both fouls, but did not lose confidence, kept throwing and the shots came very quickly and at a great pace. During the last before Alba Sussman was given the opportunity to decide the game, but preferred to deliver and also did it not well enough and Alba lost a golden opportunity to achieve a victory.
Alba led throughout most of the game and kept escaping to the 10.point zone, but Boone managed to show a lot of mental resilience and came back again and again from holes thanks to many threes (14 of 37) with Parker Jackson Catright leading her with 25 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals. Alba was led by Marcus Erickson with 16 points, Luke Sikma scored 13 and added 7 rebounds and 6 assists.
