Milan and Inter stadium, that’s how the new plant will be

Will be able to host 71,500 fans, will live 365 days a year and will cost over 1.2 billion. Milan e Inter have ambitious ideas for the new stadium as emerges from the feasibility document presented to the Municipality of Milan to give a new face to the area of San Siro. According to the project, the plant will live from 2031 and will be a jewel of technology and modernity.

The new Milan stadium

The new stadium will be pulled up in the West area, while East will remain a refunctional part of the old stadium: it will be a partial renewalwhich provides for the removal of the coverage, of the tribunes of the third and the first ring, of part of the stands of the second ring and of about 70% of the ramps that characterize the current facade. In an overall project from “1.23 billion Euro excluded the reclamation costs, the deconstruction of the stadium, the purchase costs of the areas, the soft cost, the urbanization charges and the contribution on the construction cost, compensations for carbon donation, unexpected events, inflation and VAT “.

The curiosity is that the structure will be spaced compared to the houses and will be built on a podium, useful for accessing the fans. But in the days when there are no games, part of the podium will open and turn into a large urban square, integrated with the surrounding park. Around there will also be a citadel of sport with museum, shops of the two clubs, offices, hotels, refreshment and green areas, in full respect of the sustainability criteria that represent a polar star of the project.

A stadium lives all year round

In 252 pages presented to the MunicipalityMilan and Inter also analyzed the three project proposals: no intervention, renovation of the meazza and partial conservation of the current plant, with the construction of the new stadium. The companies opted for the third way, aiming for a “modern system”, capable of “enhancing the surrounding area” and giving better experiences to the fans. To have greater details, it will be necessary to wait for the executive project, but in the document it is already clarified that all the criteria will be respected to host leading events such as one Finale in Champions.

The new plant will then have a composition of the basin “characterized by two rings that cite the historical memory of the project of the fifties of San Siro”. In an architecture that “enhances the identity of the two curves of the house and minimizes the presence of barriers in the space reserved for spectatorswhile maintaining a design compliant with the highest control and safety standards. ” Milan e Inter He will live all year round and not only on days of the game. A goal made possible by “selected areas and activities, such as the stadium tour and museum spaces, catering, conferences and events open to visitors. The design of the structure has been designed to minimize the acoustic impact, optimize public flows during events and best integrate the adjacent green areas, commercial development and connectivity, for the benefit of the local community”.
