Czech tennis player Marija Buzkova reached the quarterfinals of Wimbledon today, after defeating French player Caroline Garcia in London 7:5, 6:2.
The match between Garcia and Buzkova, the 55th and 66th tennis players in the world, lasted one hour and 23 minutes.
The Czech got a break right at the beginning of the match, which Garcia returned in the eighth game. Buzkova made the key break in the 11th game, after realizing her fourth break opportunity.
Buzkova makes two breaks in the second set, which is enough for her first placement in the singles quarterfinals at Grand Slam tournaments.
Her opponent in the quarterfinals of Wimbledon will be better than her from the match in which the second tennis player of the world, Tunisian Uns Jabir and Belgian Elise Mertens, are playing.
