Egyptian international winger Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet” returns to the Turkish Football League, this time to defend the colors of last season’s champion Trabzonspor from Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old arrived Sunday in Istanbul for a medical examination before signing the contract, which is expected to last for 4 seasons, according to several media outlets.

The former Al-Ahly star previously played in the Turkish league in the 2017-2018 season with Kassem Pasha on loan from Anderlecht, who abandoned him permanently in the following season in favor of the Turkish team.

After spending the 2018-2019 season with Qasim Pasha, with whom he played a total of 65 matches in the league during his two terms with him, scoring 22 goals and 25 in total in 71 matches in all competitions, he moved to Aston Villa in the summer of 2019 and remained in his ranks until the middle of last season when he joined Basak Shahir on loan (he scored 6 goals in 10 matches with the latter).
