Bochum and Rostock ask for help for ex-professional

VfL Bochum and Hansa Rostock have called their fans and members to help their former midfielder Tom Weilandt. The 33-year-old is again ill with leukemia and needs a stem cell donation.

That is why both clubs around their home games organize a typing campaign. The relegation threatened Bundesliga club Bochum will play against FSV Mainz 05 (3:30 p.m.) and Rostock in the third division against Energie Cottbus (2 p.m.).

The son of former Hansa professional Hilmar Weilandt had already suffered leukemia last year. Cancer has now returned.
