Alejandro Blanco: “Radio is the field of emotions”

Radio Marca, the only Spanish chain dedicated entirely to sport, has celebrated its traditional annual gala under the motto this afternoon Sports Guardiansan event that has served as a tribute to great national legendsand that has had the participation of the president of the Spanish Olympic Committee (COE), Alejandro Blancoand the presence of the president of the Spanish Paralympic Committee (CPE), Alberto Durán.

In the act they have been awarded Fernando Torres, Carolina Marín, Alberto Contador, Jorge Garbajosa, Teresa Perales, Nani Roma, José Javier Manrados, Jordan Díaz, Feliciano López y Virginia Ruanoreferents in their respective disciplines and authentic guardians of Spanish sport.

On the part of the editorial unit they have attended the event, held at the COE headquarters in Madrid, the brand director, Juan Ignacio Gallardo; the commercial director of Editorial Unit, Rafael Serrahimaand the business director of the newspaper, Gema Monjas.

In his speech during the gala – which has had the support of Endesa, CaixaBank and Moeve – Blanco has defined the radio as “the field of emotions.” Likewise, the president of COE has praised the “work” and “passion” of journalists and highlighted the importance of the media in sport.

For his part, Gallardo has extolled “values, talent, effort, fellowship and victory” of the awarded athletes. “In what we have been, we have attended so much brightness in Spanish sport that we can consider fans, perhaps, more fortunate in history,” said the brand director.

During the gala, Blanco has delivered a distinction of the COE to Radio Marca, a trophy that Gallardo has collected, “for yesterday, today and tomorrow and because there will be no successful sport without professionals like you.”
