Ehud Ratzabi, Chairman of ILAN, was elected on behalf of the Israeli Paralympic Committee as Israel’s candidate for the management of the International Paralympic Committee and as the organization’s representative at a conference of the IPC International Paralympic Committee, during which elections will be held for the organization’s candidate.
Some 170 countries around the world have applied for representation on the board of the International Sports Committee for People with Disabilities, but now there are 20 candidates left for the 12 seats on the IPC board, including Ratzabi, whose candidacy has been approved.
“The State of Israel is a powerhouse when it comes to sports for people with disabilities. This has been happening for many years and we proved it again very recently at the Tokyo Paralympic Games in which our athletes returned with 9 medals, including 6 gold medals by ILAN swimmers who achieved extraordinary results,” said Ratzabi. He added: “I thank Dr. Shuki Dekel, chairman of the Israeli Paralympic Committee, and the management of the committee for electing me as Israel’s representative in the International Paralympic Organization.”
