Croatian boxer Leonardo Muratović stabbed in Italy

Leonardo Muratovic (25), an Italian boxer originally from Croatia, was stabbed to death on Sunday night on the beach in Anzi.

The Italian media has unofficially learned that the conflict between the groups of young men was caused by a girl, and the deceased’s older brother told reporters that the security guards kicked Muratović himself and another group out of the night club. “They handed him over to the killers,” the brother believes.

According to witnesses, as soon as Muratović came out, they surrounded him and beat him, and one of them killed him. Then they fled, leaving Muratović in a pool of blood.

However, that was not the end of the unfortunate story. The following morning, the police called Muratović’s family and witnesses, including two security guards, who kicked out a group of young men from the nightclub, for an information interview. Muratović’s father, allegedly terminally ill, stabbed both of them in front of the policemen. Both ended up in the hospital with serious wounds, but they are out of danger.

– Young men have been gathering there for years and similar incidents with serious injuries have taken place. We knew that sooner or later someone would lose their life – say the residents of that place, who claim that they are in shock, but not surprised.
