Football|Lucas Bergström gets into real action in Sevilla.
RCD Mallorcan Finnish goalkeeper Lucas Bergström made his debut in the Spanish La Liga on Sunday.
Bergström, 23, gets between the posts when the team’s number one defender Leo Roman is on the patient’s side. Roman will be sidelined for at least a month due to an injury he received in training.
Bergström played his first match in Mallorca’s goal already in the Spanish Cup. Then the team won 2–0 against Atletic Sant Just, who plays at the sixth league level.
On Sunday at 22:00 Finnish time, Mallorca will face Real Betis in an away match in Seville. Then Bergström will become only the fourth Finn in history to play in La Liga. Previous players are Jari Litmanen, Jukka Raitala and Teemu Pukki.
