Lindstrøm ripped off in Bayern humiliation

After just one match in the new Bundesliga season, Bayern Munich has already underlined why the team is the favorite to win championship number 11 in a row.

In Friday’s season opener away to Eintracht Frankfurt, the class difference was huge and Bayern Munich won 6-1 after leading 5-0 at half-time.

Jamal Musiala became a double goalscorer, while Joshua Kimmich, Benjamin Pavard, Sadio Mané and Serge Gnabry also got on the scoreboard for the champion team.

The victory could easily have been bigger, because Bayern Munich managed to score both in an empty net and in other big chances.

After the show of force in the first half, Bayern Munich also allowed themselves to go down a couple of gears in the second half so as not to humiliate the defending Europa League winners further.

It was hardly intended to gift Frankfurt a goal, however, and it was nevertheless the case 19 minutes after the break when Manuel Neuer gifted the ball to Randal Kolo Muani, who sent it into an empty net.

The home team had Jesper Lindstrøm with them from the start of the match, but he and two teammates were victims of the team’s miserable first half and were ripped off at half-time.

However, Lindstrøm managed to distinguish himself as a lively character with several good actions. Among other things, he dribbled his way through alone with Manuel Neuer, but finished just wide of the goal.
