The president of the Barcelona football club, Joan Laporta, said today that in addition to Xavi Hernandez, the management is considering some other options for a new coach.

Barcelona lost to Rayo Vallecano with 0: 1 on Wednesday night and suffered the fourth defeat in six games in all competitions, and a few hours later, the club’s management fired coach Ronald Kuman.

“Xavi’s name is in all the news, but Barcelona has other options. I have never changed my opinion about Xavi. One day he will become the coach of Barcelona. And what I don’t know is when that will be. The truth is that the information they got about him “The scouts are very good. All the articles we have about him are very good, even though he hasn’t been a coach for so long,” said Laporta.

He did not name the candidates the club’s management is considering.

Xavi is currently the coach of Qatar’s Al Sadd, the team he joined in 2015 as a Barcelona player, with whom he had previously won 25 trophies in 17 seasons. He played for the Qatari club before becoming its coach in 2019.

Barcelona B coach Serhi Barhuan will temporarily lead the first team until the management selects a new coach.

Laporta said that Barhuan will lead the team on Saturday against Alaves in the championship and probably against Dinamo from Kiev, on Wednesday in the Champions League.
