A bad first quarter cost Zvezda, the fourth consecutive defeat in the Euroleague

The Red Star basketball players lost tonight away from the Milan team with 62:79 (6:24, 21:19, 23:19, 12:17), in the game of the seventh round of the Euroleague.

The red and whites suffered the fourth defeat in a row, the fifth in total, while Milan now has six victories and one defeat and is on the division of the first place in the Euroleague table.

The most efficient in the Zvezda team was Luka Mitrović with 17 points, with seven rebounds, Ognjen Dobrić scored 13 points, Nikola Kalinić added eight, and Stefan Lazarević seven points.

Milan was led to victory by Shavon Shields with 18 points, Troy Daniels scored 12, and Caleb Tarzuski two points less.

The game in Milan was practically decided after the first quarter in which the Zvezda basketball players scored only six points (24: 6).

The red and whites started the match very badly and scored the first points only after six minutes of play through Mitrovic (13: 2), and after two tied threes by Daniels, Milan reached plus 20 (24: 4).

The star was more stable in the second half, reducing the gap to 11 points, but Milan went to the big break with an advantage of 43:27.

Dejan Radonjić’s team did not give up in the continuation, so four minutes before the end of the third quarter, after a three by Hollins, they were nine points behind (50:41), but the Italian team did not allow them to return to the match and make it more uncertain.

The Red Star basketball players will meet Panathinaikos in the next round of the Euroleague, while Milan will host Barcelona.
