The referees at the World Cup will be “bathing” in hunting! Here’s how much they’ll earn

World Cup which will be held in USA, Canada and Mexico from June 11 to July 19 will be great for official judges. They will earn the highest amount of money in the history of the World Cup. According to Yahoo Sports, every head referee will get one 100.000 dollars or 86.500 euros.

These are the highest fees of the World Championships, but it should be taken into account that there are now more teams at the World Cup. The format has been expanded from 32 to 48 teams, which means that there are more matches, a total of 104; and the 2026 World Cup will use 52 referees, 88 assistant referees and 30 video referees. Compared to the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, the referee’s fees are thought to be roughly double, underscoring how VAR’s role has evolved, with increased global scrutiny and a larger fixture schedule.

Fifa has published a list of all the referees who will officiate at the upcoming World Cup. Croatia does not have a single head referee or an assistant referee, but one well-known name from Croatia was still on the list, as a referee in the VAR room.
