Italian coach Antonio Conte is the new head of the professional staff of the Tottenham football club, the London club announced today.
Conte, 52, has signed a contract with Tottenham, which currently ranks ninth in the Premier League, until the summer of 2023, with the possibility of extending cooperation.
Earlier, Tottenham terminated their cooperation with Nuno Espirit Santa on Monday, who recorded five defeats in 10 games in the Premier League.
“I am extremely happy to have returned to the coaching job, to a club from the Premier League, which has the ambition to be among the leaders again,” said Conte, as reported by the club’s website.
In his career so far, Conte has, among other things, led Juventus, the Italian national team, and from 2016 to 2018 he was the coach of London’s Chelsea.
He is with Chelsea in the 2016/17 season. won the Premier League title, with a then-record of 30 wins in 38 games, while winning the FA Cup the following season.
For the previous two seasons, he was the head coach of Inter Milan, with whom he won the Serie A title last season.
Tottenham will play the next match on Thursday at home in the League of Conferences against Dutch Vitesse, while in the next round of the Premier League they will play against Everton.
