Ferrari president says there have been “too many mistakes” in the team

Although he supported Formula One team manager Mattia Binotto, Ferrari CEO John Elkann wanted improvements across the “Scuderia” after the “Scuderia” made “too many mistakes” this season.

During the Italian Grand Prix at Monza, Elkann told La Gazzetta dello Sport, “There is no doubt that the work in Maranello, in the pits, on the pit wall, and on the steering wheel needs to improve.” He then expressed his faith in Binotto. . Charles Leclerc, a probable world championship challenger, had a strong start to the season, but a string of errors by Ferrari have let Max Verstappen and Red Bull stand out in the rankings.

It was the right decision to trust Binotto and his staff, and it was worthwhile. It is because of them that we are competitive once more and that we won once more, but I’m not content because I believe we can do better, he emphasized.

Since January 2019, Binotto, a former Ferrari engineer, has served as team president. Since 2007, the Italians have not claimed the Drivers’ World Championship. Elkann wants to win a championship with Leclerc “in top position” before the next significant engine refurbishment in 2026.
