Belarusian tennis player Arina Sabalenka and Czech Barbora Krejčikova were placed as the first and second seed at the WTA finals in Guadalajara, whose draw was held today.
Sabalenka, the second tennis player in the world, will play in the Chichen Itza Group with Greek Maria Sakari (sixth in the world), Polish Igo Schwiontek (ninth player on the WTA list) and Spanish player Paul Bados (10th in the world).
Krejčikova, her compatriot Karolina Pliškova (fourth tennis player in the world), Spanish tennis player Garbine Mugurusa (fifth player in the world) and Estonian Annette Kontaveit (eighth in the world) will play in the Teotivakan Group.
Krejčikova is the only winner of this season’s Grand Slam tournament (Roland Garros), who will perform at the final masters.
The first tennis player in the world, Ashley Barty, who was the last winner of the final masters, held in 2019, finished the season earlier.
The WTA finals in Mexico begin on Wednesday and end on November 17.
