Joyce vs. Parker – The cracker from Manchester |
Martial arts fans are dying for this mega fight
Boxing fans have been looking forward to this fight for weeks: Joe Joyce versus Joseph Parker. The duel for the interim title of the WBO. More than 15,000 fans will be there live at the AO Arena in Manchester. BILD broadcasts from 8 p.m.!
It’s all about this: Since the real champion of the WBO, Tyson Fury, will soon fight against Anthony Joshua and then have a rematch, there will probably be no title fight in the WBO until 2024. Therefore, the winner of Saturday’s fight will be determined as the interim champion.
Undefeated Joyce takes on Parker, who already had Anthony Joshua on the brink of defeat. In 2018 he lost to the Englishman on points.
Christopher Reive, martial arts expert at the New Zealand Herald, has known the New Zealander inside out for years.
In BILD he talks about the star of the country: “Joseph Parker is so incredibly fast. Not only does he have fast hands, he can also move very well in the ring.”
The expert continues: “Even if his last three fights were decided by the judges, he can still knock. He finally sent Chisora down, just barely enough for a knockout.”
After the setback against Joshua and a subsequent loss to Dillian Whyte, Parker made some changes. Now he’s undefeated in six fights!
Reive: “The reason for that is definitely his coach Andy Lee. Since the two have been working together, you can really see how better Parker has gotten. He is in the form of his life.”
What can boxing fans at BILD look forward to? “It’s an exciting matchup! Joyce has the range advantage and fights very well with the jab. Parker, on the other hand, comes with his speed.”
