Boston Celtics suspended coach Udoka for the entire season

The Boston basketball club suspended coach Ime Udoka for the entire upcoming season in the NBA league due to an inappropriate relationship with a member of that organization.

Boston stated that the coach violated the club’s regulations, but also that a decision on the continuation or termination of cooperation will be made in time after the suspension expires.

“A decision on his future after this season will be made at a later date,” the Celtics said in a statement.

Assistant coach Joe Mazula will be Boston’s interim coach.

The champions of the Eastern Conference will have a meeting with the media on Monday, and preparations for the new season begin on Tuesday.

Udoka had a successful first season as Celtics coach last season, as the team finished the regular season with 51 wins and 31 losses. Boston beat Brooklyn, Milwaukee and Miami until the grand final, and lost to Golden State in six games in the battle for the trophy.

Udoka apologized to the players, fans, the entire organization and family for letting them down and putting them in a difficult situation. He accepted the sentence and said that out of respect for those involved in the whole situation, he would not make any further statements.
