The seventh tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, qualified for the semi-finals of the tournament in Tel Aviv today, after defeating the Canadian Vašek Pospišil 7:6, 6:3.
The Serbian player defeated the 149th tennis player in the world in one hour and 54 minutes.
The tennis players held their serves in the first set, which was decided in a tie-break. Djokovic led 5:1, only for Pospišil to win four tied points and tie the score.
Nevertheless, the Serbian tennis player wins the next two points and wins the tie-break with 7:5.
Djokovic broke already in the second game of the second set, only for Pospišil to retaliate with a break in the fifth game.
The Serbian tennis player then gained a key advantage in the eighth game.
In the semifinals, Djokovic plays against the Russian player Roman Safiulin (104th on the ATP list). The second semi-final consists of Croatian tennis player Marin Čilić and Frenchman Constant Lestijen.
