The French superstar Ousmane Dembélé apparently had not received the latest news
Watch the video: Here he gets the message.
France did what they had to.
Australia were defeated as expected, but other World Cup favorites got off to a miserable start. Germany lost to Japan on Wednesday.
And when the French lightning train Ousmane Dembélé was at a press conference shortly afterwards, he was not yet aware that the world champion in 2014 had disappointed.
– There have been several surprises in the tournament. We have seen Argentina. Germany has just lost to Japan, says a journalist in French at the press conference, after which Dembélé interrupts, looks briefly to his right and closes his eyes wide.
– Huh. Oh, wow!, he replies, while the journalist starts to laugh. See the clip above.
And yes, it’s good enough, Ousmane. It was another former Dortmund player, Ilkay Gündogan, who put the Germans ahead on penalties, but after the break the Japanese managed to turn the match to a 2-1 victory.
Dembélé is naturally focused on Saturday’s match against Denmark.
– I have become older and more mature both in my game and off the pitch. I am ambitious. I want to start inside the games. I want to be a key player at this World Cup. I want to score and create goals.
Against Denmark, among other things, he will meet Andreas Christensen, with whom he plays in Barcelona. On Thursday, he laughed at several French questions and praised Dembélé.
The match begins on Saturday at 5 p.m.
