Brazilian soccer star Neymar sprained his ankle during Brazil’s match against Serbia on Thursday and will have a medical assessment of the injury within the next 48 hours.
This is according to the Brazilian national team’s doctor.
The team doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, says that Neymar sustained the injury after a collision with an opponent.
The superstar was replaced after 79 minutes when Brazil won 2-0 over Serbia on Thursday.
– We have to wait between 24 and 48 hours to have a better assessment. We have not yet scheduled an MRI scan, and tomorrow we will have a new assessment, says Rodrigo Lasmar.
– We have to wait. We cannot make any hasty comments about his development.
After the match, Neymar could be seen limping in the dressing room and pictures showed a swelling on his right ankle.
