Partizan basketball players beat Lietkabelis in Belgrade tonight with 84:77 (20:14, 19:24, 27:22, 18:17), in the game of the fifth round of Group A of the Eurocup. The Black and Whites recorded their fourth victory in the Eurocup and have the same score as Juventud and Lokomotiva, while Lietkabelis now has two wins and three losses.

Partizan was led to victory by Zek Ledej with 19 points, Alen Smailagić scored 13 points with 13 rebounds, and Gregor Glas scored the same number of points. Aleksa Avramović and Balša Koprivica scored 12 points, while Kevin Panther added 11.

Gediminas Orelik was the best in the visiting team with 19 points, while Kaspars Berzinjš and Kristupas Žemaitis added 12. Nikola Radičević finished the game with nine, and Djordje Gagić with two points.

Partizan’s basketball players had a ten-point advantage on two occasions in the first half, both times after Glas’s triple, but the Lithuanian team returned, so they were only one point behind at the big break (39:38).

The same scenario was seen in the third section. After Koprivica’s points, the black and whites reached plus 12 (54:42), Lietkabelis then tied two three-pointers and came close to 54:50, but the home team entered the last quarter with six points more on their account 66:60.

The last quarter started with a triple by Smailagić, followed by Glas and Moore, and the black and whites reached a maximum 13-point advantage of 73:60.

Nenad Canak’s team did not give up and managed to enter in the last minute with only three points behind (80:77), but they did not use two attacks, so Panther put an end to the match with points 11 seconds before the end.

In the next round, on December 8, Partizan will play against Metropolitan, while Lietkabelis will meet Juventud.
